Isle Royale is a place of profound natural beauty and rugged wilderness, but its story is just as deeply rooted in the people who called it home – from rustic fishing camps and family cabins to lighthouses and resorts— historic structures tell the story of generations who lived and worked here.

The Isle Royale Families and Friends Association (IRFFA) works to preserve this irreplaceable heritage. Through dedicated volunteer efforts, we are actively engaged in maintaining and restoring these historic structures, ensuring their legacy endures. Our work goes beyond simple upkeep; it is about keeping the human story of Isle Royale alive, a testament to the resilience, ingenuity, and spirit of the families who helped shape this remarkable place.
